History: Schuco was the the trade name for Schreyer & Co., a German company founded in 1912. Schuco was well-known for its tinplate mechanical toys and began making teddy bears steadily following the World War I. It first introduced its 'Yes/No' bear in 1921. This bear had a short tail that acted as a lever for a rod connected to the bear's head. Then the tail was moved, the head would nod.
